Australian birds checklist, Christidis and Boles 2008

Systematics and Taxonomy of Australian Birds (Christidis and Boles 2008) is the reference for Australian birds. I could not find a digital version of the species lists and so I have made my own. Here are the files for download:

CB2008.xls (Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP, all data)

CB2008Main.csv (Text CSV, Main list only)

CB2008Supp.csv (Text CSV, Supplementary list)

CB2008Key.csv (Text CSV, Key for Status notes)

I have scanned and converted to text the Main and Supplementary lists from Christidis and Boles (2008). The free Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software I used produced many errors from italic text. I have corrected most of these but there may still be a few present. I will update the list as new errors are found and corrected. Send me an email or make a comment below if you find any errors.

I hope these digital lists make your reporting easier! Refer to the book for detailed explanations of the taxonomic decisions.
